Felixstowe Radio Volunteers
We need volunteers!
We are happy to announce that we have been granted an FM broadcast licence that will allow us to broadcast in Felixstowe, Walton, the Trimleys and surrounding areas. We should be heard in Levington, in most of Harwich, in Bawdsey and out at sea!
And we shall be moving into our new premises at Great Eastern Square very soon.
We are a community interest company, working for the local area, with any profits retained and used to develop our services.
There will be a music shop at Great Eastern Square, where we hope to promote local talent. Our broadcasts will be for Felixstowe, about Felixstowe people, providing a platform for discussion, to display talent and to have fun. We want to bring happiness into everyone's life.
Volunteers will find there is plenty to do. Presenting radio shows in a professional way is important, so you'll receive training, most of it 'on-the-job' although we intend to develop accredited courses.
Behind the microphone there are numerous other ways to get involved. There's a shop to be manned, information to be researched and prepared for broadcast, making cups of coffee for nervous interviewees (and other volunteers), promoting the station, helping to arrange outside gigs and events, and (as always) keeping proper records and accounts.
Anyone and everyone can get involved.

On Tuesday 31 March at 6pm at 3 Great Eastern Square we will begin to meet our volunteers, or anyone who wants to find out what's happening. Just turn up at the empty shop and we'll explain.
If you miss Tuesday the next meeting is on Thursday, same time and place - and there will be more. Or contact us direct.

Hi,
Congratulations on getting the Fm licence,Felixstowe has needed a community station on the Fm dial for too long now.
I was just wondering if i could help out in anyway? I've been dj'ing for over 10years and have played out at all kinds of events and also ran my own events in ipswich/trimley/felixstowe/woodbridge. I also have a very keen interest in radio broadcasting and feel that i would be a valueable contribution to the team.
What sort of things will the music shop be selling?
